SAKO
Sako's rich legacy and deep knowledge of the hunting lifestyle, combined with customer's constant feedback is the key to making premium Sako arms. With the unique combination of people and technology, Sako Australia’s range of rifles always acknowledges the past but looks forward to the future.
SAKO 85
In 2006, Sako celebrated its 85th anniversary by introducing a new model of rifle: the Sako 85. This model is the successor of their Sako 75 series. Based on longstanding tradition and the newest innovations, these Sako rifles are created for the most demanding hunters. The design is based on their experience of making versatile firearms for decades. This rifle is built with only the best materials and handcrafted by skilled craftsmen who take pride in their work. As one of their premium hunting rifles, the 85 features a number of properties that set it apart from its competitors.
Barrel
All Sako 85 rifles are cold hammer forged. The inside surface of the barrel and riflings are very high quality to ensure perfect internal ballistic for the ammo. It comes in various lengths, profiles and rifling twists with or without iron sights, and is either matte or polished.
Receiver
Depending on the cartridge group, the Sako 85 receiver is manufactured in 6 different lengths. The rationale behind having a large number of action lengths is that it allows for a better fit with each individual cartridge and therefore reduces unnecessary travel by the bolt during firing—as well as weight reduction.
Stock
With its reliability and accuracy, this Sako 85 model is an excellent choice for hunting almost any kind of game. The rifle comes from the factory with a stock made of either walnut, laminate, plastic or carbon fibre—and in different shapes depending on what kind of hunting or shooting you plan to do.
SAKO 20
In February 2020, Sako introduced the S20 rifle. This model is another bolt-action rifle that features an aluminium chassis that allows for modularity and different configurations. Because of this versatility, Sako calls it their first true hybrid rifle.
The Sako rifle S20 comes in two different shapes: fluted or smooth. They are available in lengths of 20" (510 mm) or 24" (610 mm). This gives you the opportunity to choose from a wide range of options when it comes to choosing your rifle's calibre and barrel length. If you prefer longer barrels for better accuracy at extended ranges then the 24" model is ideal for you. The shorter 20" model will allow you to make quick follow-up shots when hunting game at close range.
The S20 rifle's steel receiver has two integral scope bases, and the bottom of the receiver is milled out to a V shape for bedding into an aircraft-grade aluminium chassis. Three action screws attach the two pieces together.
Another great feature of the Sako S20 rifle is its stock. It’s made of fibre-reinforced polymer, so it's strong enough to handle all kinds of terrain. The stock's front and rear parts are interchangeable, allowing you to easily use the rifle as a takedown model—even if you're out in the field on a hunt. There's also an adjustable length of pull, which means you can tailor your firearm to fit you perfectly, no matter what kind of terrain you're hunting in. What's more? The cheek risers feature visible dial numbers for quick adjustments.
SAKO TRG
The Sako TRG model is designed to meet the highest standards of accuracy, reliability and versatility. This line of bolt action sniper rifles comes in a range of colours including black, forest green or desert tan and texture options are available for stocks, barrel finishes, and action materials.
Due to its accuracy, the TRG is favoured by professionals as their primary Sako sniper rifle system. It's also used in long-range competition shooting, with several winners during the CISM competitions.
